Clouded Looks Vase

This surface pattern brings to mind a descriptor I keep revisiting from the epic novel “Miss Macintosh my darling” by Marguerite Young:

“... her tinkling airs, her powderbox mentality, her clouded looks, her faded silks and cobwebs of light and permanent iridescence, her neutrality which had permitted her to sleep through many years, not knowing how time passes or if it passed…” (p 410)
